Mark Rosenberg, Chairman of the Board, Chief Investment Officer

Mark Rosenberg is Chairman of the Board and Chief Investment Officer at SSARIS Advisors, LLC.  He chairs the Hedge Fund Investment Committee, co-chairs the Fund of Funds Investment Committee, and is a member of the firm’s Risk Committee.

Mr. Rosenberg has over 30 years of experience in the investment management industry. His first job was on the floor of the New York Stock Exchange, and subsequently the New York Mercantile Exchange, where he managed proprietary capital using a variety of quantitative techniques for Weis, Voisen & Cannon, a private investment boutique.

In 1974, he joined Merrill Lynch & Co. and organized a group that was responsible for managing hedging and alternative investment strategies for Merrill’s institutional clients. This entity became the Financial Futures and Options Group.

In 1983, Mr. Rosenberg left Merrill and formed RXR, Inc. (and subsequently RXR Capital Management, Inc., RXR Securities, Inc., The RXR Group Inc.), where he became increasingly focused on creating efficient portfolios using quantitative investment strategies. RXR Capital Management, Inc. was a Registered Investment Advisor and Commodity Trading Advisor and managed absolute return investments including long/short equity, relative value fixed income and global macro strategies.

Mr. Rosenberg is a fourth term Director of the Board of the Futures Industry Association, and on the board of the Managed Futures Association, the leading hedge fund association. He is also an arbiter for the National Futures Association and is a former member of the Financial Advisory Boards of both the Chicago Mercantile Exchange and the Commodity Exchange, Inc. Additionally Mr. Rosenberg is a former Director of the Foundation of Finance and Banking Research.

Mr. Rosenberg is involved in several community activities. He has donated time to Domus House, a refuge for abandoned children, and various entrepreneurial projects targeting low-income families.


James F. Tomeo, Chief Operating Officer, Senior Portfolio Manager

James F. Tomeo (“Jim”) is Chief Operating Officer and Senior Portfolio Manager at SSARIS Advisors, LLC. Mr. Tomeo’s responsibilities include all facets of the firm’s business including advisory services, operational due diligence and product development. Mr. Tomeo co-chairs the Fund of Funds Investment Committee and is a member of the Hedge Fund and Risk Committees.

Mr. Tomeo is a member of the Washington D.C. based Managed Funds Association and is active in promoting the President’s Working Group’s Principles and Best Practices for Hedge Fund Investors. He is a faculty member of the Regulatory Compliance Association which conducts ongoing educational seminars for its members. He is a member of the Center for International Securities and Derivatives Markets and is the US representative to the Education and Research Committee of the Alternative Investment Management Association based in London.

Before joining SSARIS, Mr. Tomeo worked for RXR Capital Management, Donaldson, Lufkin and Jenrette, and the LTV Corporation in New York. Mr. Tomeo graduated from Bucknell University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration, the University of Hartford with a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree, and the Institute of International Studies and Training (Japanese business study program). He studied International Finance and Capital Markets at New York University.

Mr. Tomeo formerly served on the Board of Visitors at the University of Hartford’s Barney School of Business and in the Leadership Center at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst. He is a former Board member of the Council of Churches and Synagogues and has volunteered with Adopt-a-House, Senior Neighborhood Support Services and the Food Bank of Fairfield County in Connecticut.


Peter A. Hinrichs, Chief Financial Officer, Chief Compliance Officer

Peter A. Hinrichs is Chief Financial Officer, Chief Compliance Officer and chairs the Risk Committee at SSARIS Advisors, LLC. Mr. Hinrich’s responsibilities include financial, administrative and operational functions. Additionally he is a member of the Fund of Funds Investment Committee and Hedge Fund Investment Committee.

Prior to assuming his responsibilities at SSARIS, Mr. Hinrichs was with its predecessor company, RXR Capital Management, Inc. since its founding in 1983. Prior to joining RXR Capital Management, Inc., Mr. Hinrichs spent several years in trading and administration at Merrill Lynch Futures Inc., and later at Prudential Bache Securities.

Mr. Hinrichs graduated from Curry College with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Management. He is active in his community as a board member of Fountain House Inc., a non-profit rehabilitation center for the mentally ill, where he serves as a Finance Committee member. He is also active with a number of other charitable organizations.
